Instructions

The calculation of GETPIVOTDATA can include calculation fields, calculation items, and custom calculation methods.

■ If pivot_table is a region with two or more pivot tables, data is retrieved from the most recently created report in the region.

■ If the field and item parameters describe a single cell, return the value of that cell, whether it is a text string, number, error value, or other value.

■ If the item contains a DATE, this value must be expressed as a serial number or populated with the date function.

So that this value is retained when the sheet is opened elsewhere.

For example, an item that references the DATE March 5, 1999 can be entered as 36224 or DATE(1999,3,5).

The TIME can be entered as a small number or using the time function.

■ If pivot_table does not indicate that the PivotTable region was found, the GETPIVOTDATA function returns the #REF! Error value. .

■ GETPIVOTDATA returns an error value #REF! If the parameter does not describe a visible field, or if the parameter contains a report filter in which filter data is not displayed. .
