Use the NORMINV function to find the inverse function

Returns the inverse function of the normal cumulative distribution function of the specified mean and standard deviation.

grammar

NORMINV(probability,mean,standard_dev)

Probability corresponds to the probability of a normal distribution.

Mean The arithmetic mean of the distribution.

The standard deviation of the Standard_dev distribution.

Instructions

■ If any of the arguments is non-numeric, NORMINV returns the #VALUE! Error value. .

■ If probability

■ If standard_dev ≤ 0, NORMINV returns #NUM! .

■ If mean = 0 and standard_dev = 1, NORMINV uses the standard normal distribution (see function NORMSINV).

■ If a probability value is given, NORMINV uses NORMDIST(x, mean, standard_dev, TRUE) = probability to solve for the value x.

Thus, the accuracy of NORMINV depends on the accuracy of NORMDIST. NORMINV uses iterative search techniques. If the search is in 100 iterations

If no convergence occurs, the function returns the error value #N/A.
