FREQUENCY(data_array,bins_array)
Data_array An array or reference to a set of values for which you calculate the frequency.
If data_array does not contain any numeric values, FREQUENCY returns a set of zeros.
Bins_array An array of intervals or a reference to intervals that are used to group values in a data_array.
If bins_array does not contain any values, FREQUENCY returns a value equal to the number of elements in the data_array.
Instructions
■ After selecting the region of adjacent cells to display the returned distribution results, the function FREQUENCY should be entered as an array formula.
■ For formulas that return an array, they must be entered as array formulas.
■ The number of elements in the returned array is 1 more than the number of elements in the bins_array. The extra element represents the number of values above the highest interval.
For example, if you want to count three numeric intervals entered in three cells, be sure to enter the FREQUENCY function in four cells to get the result.
The extra cell returns the number of values above the third interval value in the data_array.
■ FREQUENCY ignores blank cells and text.
